Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 egg whites
- 2 cups butter
- 4 cups flour
- cinnamon as needed
- pecan pieces as needed
- extra sugar, as needed
Directions
-
Cream butter and sugar well, add egg yolk and flour.
-
Spread on two 9 inch square pans, brush with slightly beaten egg whites.
-
Sprinkle with pecans generously, very lightly press pecans down into dough, very lightly.
-
Sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon.
-
Bake until light golden brown, 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Tip: I use glass clean Pyrex dishes so I can see how brown the crust/cookie is…will take longer than listed, at least on my oven it does.
-
Cut while still hot…then cut again when cool.
