Whole wheat bread

Ingredients

  • 6 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 3-6 T apple cider vinegar/lemon juice/whey
  • 3 T butter
  • 3 T honey
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 T yeast

Directions

  1. Put flour, water and acid medium in a bowl and combine. Soak 12-24 hours.

  2. Melt butter and honey and add to flour with yeast and salt.

  3. Beat until mixed and starting to knead.

  4. Knead on a floured surface.

  5. Let rise in the bowl, punch down.

  6. Divide into two bread pans and let rise again.

  7. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes and 350 for 30 minutes.
