Cheese Biscuits

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • Can also add garlic.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

  2. Lightly grease a baking sheet

  3. In medium mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.

  4. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  5. Stir in cheese and milk

  6. Mix with a fork until the dough comes together and forms a ball

  7. Turn dough onto lightly floured board and kneed 5-6 times. Roll the dough out to a 1 inch thickness and cut into 2 inch biscuits.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minuts or until they are a light brown.

  9. Optional: Brush tops of biscuits with 2 tbsp butter after removing from oven.
