Cheese Cake

Notes from Grandma: You must be the judge of your oven temps and bake accordingly.

I really like a spring form pan. I grease the sides and pack the crumbs up the side of the pan.

Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 20 graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter/ oleo
  • Filling
  • 16 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • Topping
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Crust: Roll graham crackers. Add sugar and butter. Grease pan and place in refrigerator for 10 minutes. (Note from Grandma: “Be sure to grease pan.”)

  2. Filling: Beat cream cheese until smooth while adding other ingredients. Beat 3 or 4 minutes. Pour over crust and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. Cool 15 minutes.

  3. Topping: Beat sour cream, sugar, and vanilla together. Increase oven temperature to 475° F. Pour mixture over cooled filling. Bake 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature. Store in refrigerator.
