Russian Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
  • Extra bowl of confectioners’ sugar to roll cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Mix butter, sugar, and vanilla.

  2. Sift together flour, salt, and add nuts. Work into mixture.

  3. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes until set but not brown.

  4. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool and roll in powdered sugar once more.
