2-Cheese Mushroom Toast

Ingredients

  • Sauteed Mushrooms:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • salt and pepper
  • Toast:
  • 1 French roll , halved
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 garlic clove , minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sauteed mushroom
  • 2 slices American cheese (if using American, cut slices into small squares) or 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Directions for sauteed mushrooms:.

  3. Saute the mushrooms and salt/pepper in the olive oil until the mushrooms are slightly brown.

  4. Directions for toast:.

  5. Line a sheet pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

  6. Each split roll gets half of the butter and garlic amount. Spread each amount of butter over face of roll, then the garlic.

  7. Divide the mozz. cheese in equal parts and spread out over bread.

  8. Spread sauteed mushrooms over mozz. cheese.

  9. Lay/spread American or cheddar cheese over mushrooms.

  10. Put on sheet pan and bake for 10 minutes (ovens vary).
