Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon , chopped
- 3/4 lb bulk pork sausage (Jimmy Dean)
- 1 large sweet onion , chopped
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light molasses
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried chipotle powder (to taste)
- 5 (16 ounce) cans plain baked beans

In a large pot, fry the bacon until it is almost crisp; remove from the pot and set aside.

Add in the sausage and onion; saute, breaking up the sausage into small pieces until it is no longer pink and the onion is translucent; remove all of the fat from the pot.

Add the reserved bacon, the ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, and chile powder to the pot; bring to a boil, stirring until the mixture is incorporated.

Add in the beans, stirring to combine and simmer 1 hour; serve hot.
