Butterfly Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 12 Large Shrimp
  • 12 Ham, Slices, Thin
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Teaspoons Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 3 Slices Bacon
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch w/ 4 tbsp of water
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Ketchup

Directions

  1. Peel/Devein Shrimp (leaving tail). Split shrimp down the middle and flatten. Slice onion into half rings. Place ham pieces on shrimp. Mix the egg and flour. Cut bacon into pieces. Dip bacon in egg batter. Place bacon over shrimp.

  2. Fry on bacon side for 3 minutes; then turn and fry for another 3 minutes. Set aside and stir fry onions. Place shrimp and onions on platter.

  3. Sauce: In skillet add oil, garlic. Add water, ketchup, worchester, sugar, pepper. Bring to boil, then add cornstrarch mix.
