Lasagna

Ingredients
- Sauce
- 1 pound ground beef
- Sausage, sliced or ground
- 2 jars Tomato and Basil sauce (Classico)
- 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 15-ounce can tomato bits or crushed tomato
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic or more, minced
- Salt (approximately 1 teaspoon per pound of meat)
- Red wine
- Parsley, oregano, and basil to taste
- Lasagna:
- Lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 12 ounces cottage cheese, small curd, whole milk
- 8 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 pound mozzarella cheese, grated
- Parmesan cheese, grated
Directions

Mix together cottage cheese, ricotta cheese and egg. In a large baking pan, prepare to layer sauce as follows:

1) Sauce to cover bottom of dish

2) Uncooked noodles to cover sauce (leave a little room to expand)

3) ½ cottage cheese mixture

4) ½ mozzarella cheese

Repeat these layers and then top with Parmesan cheese.

Cook in 350° F. oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Give time for lasagna to set before serving.

Serving ideas: serve with salad, rolls, or bread.
