Ingredients
- 1/2 cup plus 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp light corn syrup
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla

eat oven to 325. Lightly grease 9" pie plate.

Beat together 1/2 cup melted butter and brown sugar in large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; mix thoroughly.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, mixing well.

Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. (The dough will resemble chocolate chip cookie dough.)

Place dough in prepared pie plate. Flatten and smooth with a wooden spoon or by hand.

Bake for 30-40 min. or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Brush the pie with remaining melted butter as soon as it comes from the oven. Allow to cool.

Serve with ice cream and Hot Fudge Sauce:

Bring 1/3 cup water and 1 Tbsp butter to simmer in a heavy saucepan over medium heat till butter is melted. Remove from heat and add chocolate; stir till melted.

Add 1 cup sugar, corn syrup and salt; mix well. Return to the heat and bring the mixture to a boil without stirring.
