Jewish apple cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5-6 apples, peeled and sliced thin
  • 5 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon or more to taste

Directions

  1. Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon.

  2. Mix dry ingredients

  3. Beat liquids and eggs until light

  4. Add dry ingredients, mix well

  5. Pour 1/2 to 1/3 cake batter into greased and floured tube pan

  6. Layer 1/2 apple mixture, add more batter.

  7. Keep repeating finishing with batter.

  8. Toothpick should come out clean.
