Mom’s Dumplings

Do not mix the ingredients very much

Cook time: 8 minutes
Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • Dumplings:
  • 3 Cups Self Rising Flour
  • 3 TBS. Lard
  • 1 1/3 Cup of Milk
  • Broth:
  • 5 Cans of Chicken Broth
  • 1 Cup of Milk
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Directions

  1. Mount flour in big mixing bowl.

  2. Create a hole or crater in middle of flour.

  3. Put lard inside crator (cut up into small pieces)

  4. Slowly add milk

  5. Barely mix, trying not to “touch” or handle dough too much.

  6. Mix until sticky.

  7. Plop mixture onto generously floured surface, working additional flour into dough mixture.

  8. Roll out and cut.

  9. Add to boiling broth mixture.

  10. Put on lid and cook for 8 minutes, shaking pan regularly but do NOT lift off lid.
