Ingredients
- 2 cups whole lentils
- Several garlic cloves
- 2 onions, one sliced, one chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup rice
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
Directions

Boil lentils and garlic in enough water to cover them until almost tender.

Fry sliced onions on low until caramelized.

Add rice, chopped onions, 3 cups hot water and spices to lentils.

Cover and simmer gently until rice is soft and water is absorbed.

Top with caramelized onions

Serve with a lemony salad.
