Helen’s Meatloaf

Ann Landers published this recipe several times over the years. It was her sister Helen’s recipe and it’s very good. I usually cut the recipe in half for two people + leftovers.
I’ve occasionally used barbeque sauce instead of the tomato sauce.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups bread crumbs
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 t. Accent (optional)
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 envelope Lipton's onion soup
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 strips bacon (optional)
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly, except for tomato sauce and bacon.

Put into loaf pan. Cover with 2 strips bacon. Pour the tomato sauce over all.

Bake 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
