Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 T. grated lemon peel
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, halved & hulled
- 2 cups cold water
Directions

In a medium saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.

Add lemon juice and lemon peel; stir. Remove from heat. Cool completely; then strain into a clean pitcher.

In a blender, puree the fresh strawberries and add to pitcher with lemon juice. Stir well; refrigerate until well chilled.

Add remaining two cups of water; stir well. Pour into glasses filled with ice.

Option 1: substitute sparkling water or club soda for final 2 cups of water

Option 2: use frozen strawberries with syrup, no need to thaw
