Hot chocomallow

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 600ml full-cream milk, plus an extra 2 tbsp
  • 150ml single cream
  • 125g dark cooking chocolate (70% cocoa solids), broken into small pieces
  • handful of marshmallows or Maltesers

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, make a paste mixing cocoa powder with 2 tablespoons of milk and set aside. Over a low heat, bring the cream to just below boiling, remove from heat, add the chocolate and stir until the chocolate has melted. Return saucepan to heat, add milk and bring to the boil, whisking occasionally.

  2. Pour the chocolate milk on to the cocoa paste and whisk to combine. Divide the hot chocolate between two mugs and put 2 marshmallows or 4 Maltesers on the top of each one.
