Scones

These scones are rich, soft, and sweet; perfect served with coffee for breakfast.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup snipped raisins
Directions

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter.

Add beaten eggs, milk, and raisins all at once. Using a fork, stir dough together gently.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Knead several times. Divide dough into two. Pat each section into a circle about 6 inches across.

Cut each circle into 6 wedges; move to greased pan. Bake at 400 F until browned.

Serve warm with butter and jelly.
