Chai Tea

Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 2 qts (8 cups) water
  • 8 bags black tea
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 16 whole cloves
  • 16 whole cardamon seeds, pods removed (opt)
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 slices fresh ginger
  • 1 c milk
  • *Chai tea is typically a sweet drink. For less sweetness, reduce sugar to 1/2 cup

Directions

  1. Combine water, tea, sugar, cloves, cardamon, cinnamon and ginger in the slow cooker. Cover; cook on high for 2 1/2 hours.

  2. Strain mixture; discards solids. (May be covered and refrigerated for up to 3 days)

  3. Stir in milk just before serving. Serve warm or chilled.
