Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 Cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
- 1 tsp Almond extract
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- Frosting:
- 1/2 Cup (1 stick) butter
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 4 1/2 Cups Confectioners sugar
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 Cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Directions

Cake:

In a large saucepan, bring butter and water to boil. Remove from heat.

Stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, salt and baking soda until smooth.

Pour into a greased jelly roll pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes or until cake is golden brown.

Cool for 20 minutes.

Frosting:

Combine butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat.

Add sugar and extract and mix well. Stir in nuts.

Pour over warm cake.
