Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 1 bag diced chicken breast pieces
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Basmati rice, cooked

Directions

  1. Combine yogurt thru salt. Stir in chicken, marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour.

  2. Grill chicken pieces.

  3. Melt butter in large skilled over medium heat.

  4. Saute garlic and jalapeno for 1 minute.

  5. Season with cumin, paprika, and salt.

  6. Stir in tomato sauce and cream.

  7. Simmer on low heat until sauce thickens, about 20 minutes.

  8. Add grilled chicken and simmer for 10 minutes.

  9. Serve with rice.
