Asiago Cheese Puffs

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup grated asiago cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, well drained and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp minced fresh basil
  • 1 roll (1/2 of 16 oz. twin package) frozen fillo dough, thawed according to package directions.
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 Tbsp water

Directions

  1. In medium bowl, stir cream cheese, asiago, mayonnaise, tomatoes and basil until smooth; set aside.

  2. Stack fillo sheets on work surface; keep covered with plastic wrap and damp towel.

  3. Remove 1 fillo sheet; coat lightly with no-stick cooking spray. Top with 3 more fillo sheets, lgithly coating each with no stick spray.

  4. Cut into six 4-inch squares.

  5. Place 1 Tbsp of the filling in center of each square. Brush edges of each square lightly with egg mixture.

  6. Bring edges of pastry together over filling, pressing to seal edges. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets.

  7. Repeat with remaining fillo and filling.

  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
