English Toffee

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/4 c Karo
  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 lb nuts
  • 1 lb chocolate (milk chocolate bars)

Directions

  1. Spread finely ground nuts (1/2 lb) on two cookie sheets.

  2. Cook sugar, water, syrup, and butter to 285 degrees Fahrenheit.

  3. Cook slow.

  4. Pour over nuts.

  5. Spread chocolate on hot candy.

  6. Sprinkle 1/4 lb nuts over chocolate.

  7. Set until cold and can be turned over.
