Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 2# Beef cut in cubes
- 2 Tbs oil
- 4 c boiling water
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 med onion chopped
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1-2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 Tbs salt
- Dash cloves
- 1 tsp sugar
- 6 carrots
- 3 potatoes
Directions

Brown meat in oil, brown all sides.

Add boiling water, lemon juice, Worcestershire, garlic, onion, bay leaves and seasonings.

Cover & simmer (not boil) for 2 hours. Stir occasionally.

Remove bay leaves & garlic.

Cut up carrots & potatoes. Put in bowl, add a little water, cover and microwave 10-12 minutes.

When tender, add to meat.

Cook to blend flavors.

Can be thickened with cornstarch & water.
