Prepared Oatmeal

(from dano’s recipe box)

Ingredients

  • 3 1/3 steel cut oats
  • 8 cups water

Directions

  1. Melt coconut oil in large saucepan. (you can skip this all together if you want, but I love coconut oil)

  2. Add oats, and stir to coat.

  3. Turn up heat and cook for a few minutes.

  4. Add water and salt and bring to a boil.

  5. Simmer for 5 minutes, and remove from heat.

  6. Ladle oats and water (there is still quite a bit of water left over) into containers (I recommend glass jars over plastic containers since this is so hot).

  7. Cover with lids and let sit on your counter overnight (or about 8 hours)

  8. Refrigerate.

  9. cut recipe in half

  10. add almonds/fruit ect.
