Ingredients

• 3/4 cup butter flavored crisco shortning
• 1 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
• 2 tblsp milk
• 1 tblsp vanilla extract
• 1 egg
• 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 3/4 tsp baking soda
• 1 cup semi sweet choc. chips
• 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. Beat shortning and brown sugar in large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until liight and fluffy

3. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla

4. Stir in flour, salt and baking soda.

5. Blend in chocolate chips and optional pecans

6. Drop rounded spoonfuls 2 in apart on ungreased cookie sheet

7. Bake 8-10 minutes for chewy cookies and 11-13 minutes for crisp cookies

8. Cool 2 minutes on cooling rack
