Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.

Beat in egg, molasses and ginger.

Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.

Roll into 1-1/2-in. balls, then roll in sugar. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until puffy and lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
