Pasta with Vodka Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 20 leaves fresh basil, chopped
  • 2/3 cup vodka
  • 1 lb linguine or fettuccini
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil and garlic in a deep saucepan over medium heat.

  2. When the garlic speaks, add tomatoes and heat through.

  3. Stir in basil leaves.

  4. When basil wilts, stir in vodka and bring to boil.

  5. Give the pan a shake and reduce heat to low.

  6. Simmer until the pasta of your choice is cooked al dente.

  7. When you drain the pasta, add the cream to your sauce, then stir in until the sauce blushes a shade or two lighter.

  8. Toss with the hot pasta and serve with bread and a green salad.
