Louisiana Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 3TBSP Flour
  • 1tsp Salt
  • 1/2tsp Celery Salt
  • 1/4tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1/4tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2c Raisins
  • 3lbs Chuck, Cut into 2" cubes (Stew Meat)
  • 2TBSP Shortening
  • 1 16oz can Tomatoes
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 1/3c Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/2c Molasses
  • 6-8 Carrots, sliced
  • Hot Cooked Rice

Directions

  1. Combine 1st 6 ingredients and sprinkle on beef cubes. Brown cubes in shortening.

  2. Combine remaining ingredients except raisins and carrots and bring to boil. Cover and simmer 2 hours.

  3. Add carrots and raisins and simmer 30 minutes more.

  4. Serve over rice.
