Peach Cobbler

Serves 6 people
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 pounds peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Directions

Sift together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening.

Whisk together egg and water. Add to flour mixture. Mix and chill for thirty minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Roll dough out into 1/8 inch thickness. Cover bottom and halfway up the sides of a 9×13 baking dish.

Bake for twenty minutes.

While baking, mix remaining ingredients EXCEPT 1 tablespoon sugar and melted butter . Pour into baked crust.

Roll leftover dough into 1/4 inch thickness.

Make a “lattice” pattern over peaches.

Sprinkle with sugar. Drizzle with butter.

Bake for thirty-five to forty minutes.
