Chocolate spiders

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c butter or margarine
  • 1 pkg (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c butterscotch flavored chips
  • 1/4 c creamy peanut butter
  • 4 c crisp rice cereal
  • Decorations: chow mein noodles, assorted candies

Directions

  1. Cover baking sheet with waxed paper

  2. Combine butter, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips in large saucepan, stir over medium heat until chips are melted and mixture is well blended. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, mix well. Add cereal, stir to evenly coat.

  3. Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. insert chow mein noodles for legs and ad candies for eyes.

  4. For doughnut hole spiders:

  5. Substitute chocolate covered doughnut holes for the shaped cereal mixture. Insert black string licorice for legs. Use desired color icing for eye dots.
