Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, melted
- 1 c white sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 Tbs. maraschino cherry juice
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 c chopped pecans
- 2 c flour
- 2 c cornflakes, crushed
- 1 small jar maraschino cherries for garnish
Directions

Mel butter and add white sugar. Let cool.

Next add eggs. Stir together with vanilla, cherry juice, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add nuts and flour and mix well.

Crush the cornflakes and put them in a small bowl.

Roll the cookie dough into balls the size of walnuts. Next roll them in the crushed cornflakes.

Place on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly.

Cut cherries into 1/4s and place one on the top of each cookie.

Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes then move to a wire rack
