Mini Morsel Shortbread Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups semi-sweet miniature chocolate chips, divded

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Beat butter and sugar in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat an egg and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in 1 cup morsels.

  3. Press mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13×9-inch baking pan.

  4. Bake for 30-33 minutes or just until top is light brown. Immediately sprinkle with remaining morsels.

  5. Let stand 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny, spread evenly. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
