Mackinac Island Maple Walnut Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk or 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup walnuts

Directions

  1. Mix flour and sugar in a saucepan. Add maple syrup, corn syrup and milk.

  2. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally to soft ball stage (232-236 degrees).

  3. Remove from heat and drop butter on top.

  4. Cool to lukewarm; beat until glossy look begins to leave.

  5. Pour quickly into butter pan.
