Cheddar cheese sauce

Ingredients

  • 2Tbsp butter
  • 2Tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded extra old cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. In sauce pan melt butter and wisk in flour, brown 1 minute.

  2. Gradually whisk in milk and cook, whisking constantly, until thickened, about 7minutes

  3. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese, salt, pepper, mustard and cayenne pepper until cheese is melted.
