Mae’s Chicken & Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken
  • 3 c. Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2/3 plus 1 Tbls. water

Directions

  1. Boil chicken and debone.

  2. Combine Flour and Salt, cut in shortening with pastry blender.

  3. Add water a Tbls. at a time until dough holds together.

  4. Roll dough and cut into small squares.

  5. Drop in boiling broth and cover.

  6. Simmer 20 minutes.
