Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Cream well. Sift flour and salt together; add to creamed mixture. Work with hands until mixed. Add vanilla and nuts.

Chill dough. Form into balls 1 inch diameter. The dough will be crumbly, but it’s well worth the effort! Put on greased tins. Bake 14-17 minutes in moderate oven. When done, roll immediately in powdered sugar. When cool, roll again in powdered sugar.
