German Sweet Chocolate Cake and Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg German sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. Melt chocolate in the water.

  2. Cream margarine and sugar.

  3. Add 4 egg yolks one at a time.

  4. Blend in chocolate and vanilla.

  5. Add flour,soda and salt alternately with butter milk

  6. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

  7. Bake at 350

  8. Frosting Coconut Pecan

  9. Conbine

  10. 1 cup evaporated milk

  11. 1 cup sugar

  12. 3 slightly beaten egg yolks

  13. 1/2 cup margarine

  14. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  15. Cook and stir over medium heat for about 12 minutes.

  16. Add 1 1/3 cups coconut and

  17. 1 cup nuts.

  18. Cool.

  19. Frost cake.
