Tomato Soup

Makes several jars or bags of soup.

Ingredients

  • 2 pecks of tomatoes
  • 3 pounds onions
  • 2 bunches of celery
  • 2 bunches parsely
  • 2 green peppers
  • 2 red peppers
  • 6 bay leaves
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 pound margarine
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar

Directions

  1. Prepare first 6 ingredients in a blender blending till smooth.

  2. Add bay leaves.

  3. Add cloves and salt

  4. Pour mixture into sauce pan.

  5. Cook for 2 hrs.

  6. Put through a strainer.

  7. Set aside.

  8. Melt margarine and cool.

  9. Add four and sugar to margarine.

  10. Add the margarine mixture slowly to the hot Vegatable mixture.

  11. Cook 15 minutes to thicken.

  12. Add hot mixture to cans to can or freeze
