Ingredients
- 2 t cumin seed, roasted
- 1 T oil
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 T ginger
- 1 t tumeric
- pinch of red pepper flakes
- 2 cans chickpeas
- 1 lg tomato, peeled and seeded
- 1/8 c water
- Salt and pepper
- 1/4 c cilantro
Directions

Roast cumin seeds lightly in saucepan until fragrant, remove.

In saucepan, heat oil, sauté onions and garlic. Add ginger, roasted cumin seeds, tumeric, red pepper flakes, chickpeas and tomato (to easily peel tomato, put in boiling water for 30 sec).

Add water, salt and pepper to taste. Heat thoroughly. Remove from heat – add cilantro.

Serve with basmati rice.
