Frozen Strawberry Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. Thaw strawberries and set aside.

  2. Mix flour, brown sugar, pecans and butter and sprinkle on cookie sheet.

  3. Bake 15 minutes at 325’.

  4. Put 2/3 of crumb mixture in the bottom of 9×13 pan.

  5. Combine egg whites, white sugar, strawberries and lemon juice and beat well (5-7 minutes) until peaks form.

  6. Whip cream and fold into strawberry mixture.

  7. Spoon over crumbs.

  8. Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.

  9. Freeze one day before serving.
