Mashed potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2.25kg floury potatoes, such as Maris Piper or King Edward, peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 150g salted butter
  • milk

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook the potatoes in well-salted water for 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and pass through a potato ricer back into the pan, or mash. Fold in the butter, some salt and white pepper, and enough milk to give you a smooth, creamy mash and serve.
