Easy Does It Lamb Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 2 tablespoons onion, coarsely grated
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 small ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons parve non fat sour cream
  • 1 large ripe tomato, cut into 4 thick slices
  • 1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts

Directions

  1. In a bowl, lightly mix the lamb with the onions, parsley, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties, each 3 inches across and 1 inch thick.

  2. In a separate bowl, mash the avocado with the lime juice and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Broil the patties or pan-fry over medium heat in a non-stick skillet for 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

  4. Lightly toast hamburger buns. Place a burger on each and top with avocado, tomato slice, and alfalfa sprouts.
