Cherries Flamee

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of current jelly
  • 1 can Bing cherries, drained
  • 1 1/2 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup cognac

Directions

  1. Melt jelly in chaffing pan over direct heat and stir gently. Add drained cherries. Mix and heat slowly. Spoon ice cream into 8 dessert dishes. Pour almost all of the cognac into the center of the cherries. Do not stir. Pour rest the cognac into a large spoon. Ignite it with a match, then pour the flaming cognac into the cognac in the chaffing dish to ignite. Spoon flaming cherries over ice ream and serve.
