Applesauce Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 2T butter
  • 1/2 C chopped onion
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 4 thick pork chops
  • 1 1/2 C applesauce or apple puree
  • 3T brown sugar
  • 1t ground mustard
  • 1/4 t ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 t salt
  • ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Lightly cook onion and apple slices in butter, about 5 minutes. Set aside.

  2. Brown both sides of pork chops in same pan.

  3. Mix applesauce, sugar, mustard and cinnamon with apple/onion mixture.

  4. Place pork chops in baking pan, season with the salt and pepper.

  5. Spoon applesauce mixture over chops and cover dish.

  6. Bake in oven pre-heated to 190oC for 30-45 minutes until tender and cooked.
