Rice Krispie Treats (dairy free)

If you are not lactose intolerant substitute the vegan margarine with butter or margarine and eliminate the vanilla extract.

Cook time: 20 minutes
Serves 12 people

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons vegan margarine
  • 1 pkg (10 oz about 40) regular marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan melt margarine over low heat.

  2. Remove from heat.

  3. Add vanilla extract.

  4. Stir in Rice Krispies.

  5. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13×9×2 inch pan coated with cooking spray.

  6. Cool.

  7. Cut into 2 inch squares.

  8. Best if served the same day.
