Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 2/4 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups quick cook oats
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 4 1/2 cups coarsely chopped apples (3 apples)
- 3 TBSP flour
- 1 (14 oz.) bag of caramels
Directions

at oven to 400. Mix brown sugar, butter and shortening. Add 1 3/4 cups flour, oats, salt and baking soda. Reserve 2 cups of mixture, press the rest in ungreased pan.

Toss apples and 3 TBSP Flour, spread over mixture in pan. Melt caramels over low heat.

Bake 25-30 min until golden brown.
