Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/8 c. oil
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tb. poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 tsp. almond
  • 1 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
  • 1/4 c. orange juice
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. nut flavoring

Directions

  1. mbine ingredients 1 thru 4 in a large bowl. Then add 5 thru 11.

  2. x well and bake 1 hour for large loaves (less for smaller) at 350. After baking, poke holes all over the top with fork and pour glaze over hot bread.

  3. Bring the remaining ingredients to a boil and pour over hot bread.
