Roasted Broccoli Gratin with Blue Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lbs fresh broccoli
  • 3 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Put the broccoli in a large bowl; drizzle with the oil, and sprinkle with the salt and pepper while tossing to coat. Transfer to a 3 qt. Casserole dish. Nestle the garlic in the broccoli. Roast until the tops are browning and the stems are crisp-tender, 10-15 minutes.

  2. Remove the dish from the oven and remove the garlic. Sprinkle blue cheese and bread crumbs over the broccoli. Return to the oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown. Serve hot or warm.
