Ingredients
- 2 pkgs active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water (105-115 F)
- 2 cups milk
- 8 cups flour
- 1/2 cup shortening (or 1 stick of butter) room temp.
- 3 eggs
- 4Tbs sugar
- 1 Tbs salt
Directions

Lightly grease large bowl and 2 9×5 loaf pans.

Set aside.
- In lrg mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

Scald milk and cool to lukewarm.

Stir milk into yeast.

Add 4 cups flour, butter, eggs, sugar and salt, beat until smooth.

Add enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
