Chocolate Brickle Bars

Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. mini choc. chips
  • 1/2 c. crushed chow mein noodles
  • 2/3 c peanut butter
  • 1 6oz pkg brickle chips, divided
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/4 c. instant non-fat dry milk powder
  • 2 T water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • Chocolate Almond Topping
  • 1 1/2 c. mini choc chops
  • 3 T. solid veg shortening
  • 2 T almond extract

Directions

  1. In mixing bowl, combine chocolate chips, chow mein noodles, peanut butter 1/2 cup of the brickle chips, powdered sugar, dry milk, water and honey.

  2. Mix well.

  3. Press mix into 8×8 baking pan

  4. Refrigerate until firm.

  5. Prepare topping and spread over bars

  6. (TOPPING:

  7. In double boiler, melt choc chips and shortening over hot, not boiling water.

  8. Stir.

  9. OR – place in glass bowl and micro on high 1/5 mins.

  10. Add almond extract and mix well. )

  11. Sprinkle top with remaning brickel chips.
